What does the product do?

Whey protein is a byproduct of the manufacture of cheese or yogurt. The remaining liquid is whey protein, then after further manufacturing can be made into a powder for consumption. Whey protein is simply the most refined version of whey protein. This means that is will have less carbs, fats and lactose then whey concentrate. 

Neither of the proteins is inherently worse or better as they both have almost exactly the same amino acid profile and in the scheme of an overall diet the calorie difference is marginal. 

However if someone has a sensitivity to lactose the whey isolate is the preferred option as it has such a small amount of lactose that it should not cause a response. 

Who should be taking it?

Most people do not consume enough protein in their normal diets and therefore should be consuming a supplement if the goal is to look better or perform better.
